Next Leader Up is a comprehensive leadership development platform offering online courses, resources, and professional development tools for emerging leaders.
The platform consists of a Teachable-based learning management system (nextleaderup.academy) for course delivery and a WordPress marketing site (nextleaderup.com) built with Divi. Code Cobalt helped finish out the platform, handling significant customization work, course creation, page redesigns, integration implementations, and ongoing maintenance.
The Challenge
Next Leader Up had an existing platform foundation but needed help completing and refining the implementation to deliver courses effectively and manage memberships.
The platform required support for both individual learners and corporate clients, with different membership tiers and group access capabilities. Additionally, marketing tools needed integration—newsletter management, scheduling for live sessions, and chatbot support for coaching inquiries.
A significant part of the work involved working within the constraints and limitations of the Teachable platform. While Teachable provides a solid foundation for course delivery, certain customization needs required creative workarounds and careful configuration.
Coordinating between the Teachable LMS and WordPress marketing site to create a seamless, integrated user experience required careful planning, custom integrations, and attention to user flow between the sites.
Our Solution
Code Cobalt helped complete and refine the platform, working with the existing Teachable LMS and WordPress with Divi marketing site.
We organized the course content into categories with proper structure, working within Teachable's system to create a logical learning path. The course structure was optimized to work with Teachable's platform limitations while meeting the client's organizational needs.
A major focus of our work was bridging the gap between the WordPress marketing site and Teachable LMS to create a seamless user experience. We implemented custom solutions to ensure smooth navigation between the sites, consistent branding, and intuitive user flows from marketing pages to course enrollment and back.
Membership tiers were implemented for both individual and corporate options. Corporate client access was enabled through multi-use coupon codes for group registrations, allowing companies to enroll teams efficiently.
Marketing integrations included:
- Calendly for monthly "Lunch & Learn" sessions
- Newsletter migration from LinkedIn to Substack with signup forms
- Chatbot integration for coaching support
- Drip campaigns for automated course delivery
- Course certificates and email template configuration
The WordPress site was redesigned with modern UI/UX including hero sections, featured courses, resource cards, and improved navigation. We ensured the design and functionality of the WordPress site complemented the Teachable platform experience.
Ongoing maintenance and improvements are provided based on user feedback, ensuring the platform continues to evolve with user needs while working within the constraints of both platforms.

Next Leader Up now operates as a functional leadership development platform with organized course content, multiple membership tiers, and seamless corporate client onboarding.
