Global Polygraph Network
Complex polygraph testing referral network platform with automated exam registration, member assignment system, and site migration from A2 Hosting to Kinsta.
Summary
Global Polygraph Network is a complex referral network platform connecting customers with certified polygraph examiners across 500+ locations worldwide. The platform serves 100+ members and thousands of customers with an automated registration and assignment workflow.
Code Cobalt took over maintenance during a critical period when email delivery was completely broken. We migrated the site from unreliable A2 Hosting VPS to Kinsta managed WordPress hosting, resolved security breaches, and rebuilt the email notification system. The platform includes a custom Case Manager for tracking assignments, member portals, and a WooCommerce e-commerce shop.
The Challenge
Global Polygraph Network had been experiencing critical email delivery failures. Customers and examiners were not receiving automated notifications about exam registrations and assignments, costing the GPN team hours of manual forwarding.
The site was hosted on an A2 Hosting VPS, which was overkill for the client's needs. They needed simple managed hosting that could handle their requirements without the complexity of VPS management. The email system was using default PHP mailer which has poor deliverability, and DNS records (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) were not properly configured.
The platform also suffered from a security breach with unauthorized posts being created. Additionally, BluePay payment gateway was incorrectly declining valid credit cards. The platform needed a complete email system rebuild, site migration to reliable hosting, security hardening, and payment gateway troubleshooting - all while maintaining operations for an active user base.
Our Solution
Code Cobalt completely rebuilt the email delivery system by switching from default PHP mailer to Postmark. We properly configured DNS records including SPF, DKIM, and DMARC to improve email deliverability.
We migrated the entire site from A2 Hosting VPS to Kinsta managed WordPress hosting, improving reliability and performance. We installed and configured Wordfence Security to prevent future security breaches, removed unauthorized users, cleaned up security vulnerabilities, and locked down admin pages.
We troubleshooted BluePay payment gateway issues and resolved false declines. We improved the automated email notification workflow, ensuring all parties (customers, examiners, administrators) receive proper notifications at each stage of the exam registration and assignment process. We also configured email autoresponders, recovered lost emails from previous server, and implemented comprehensive logging for email delivery tracking.
Results
Global Polygraph Network now operates reliably with a fully functional email notification system that delivers messages to all parties at every stage of the exam registration and assignment workflow.
Email delivery rates improved from near-zero to near-perfect after switching to Postmark and configuring proper DNS records. The site migration to Kinsta eliminated hosting-related outages and performance issues.
Security breaches were resolved and prevented with Wordfence Premium protection. BluePay payment gateway issues were fixed, reducing false declines. The platform now reliably handles thousands of exam registrations and assignments per month with automated workflows that require minimal manual intervention.
