Buried In Work
WordPress theme customization to match primary Squarespace site branding, including fonts, header, footer, and color scheme.
Summary
Buried In Work is an educational resource platform focused on estate planning and end-of-life preparation. While the primary site runs on Squarespace, the team required a WordPress subdomain to support directory-style functionality.
Code Cobalt customized the WordPress directory site to visually align with the main Squarespace platform, ensuring a consistent brand experience across both systems.
The Challenge
Buried In Work needed their WordPress directories subdomain to feel like a natural extension of their primary Squarespace site.
Out of the box, the directory theme differed in typography, layout, and overall visual treatment, making it obvious to users that they had moved to a different platform. The goal was to create a seamless experience so visitors could navigate between the main site and the directory without disruption to brand perception.
Our Solution
Code Cobalt adapted the WordPress directory theme to match the design language of the primary Squarespace site.
The goal was visual continuity across platforms, allowing the directory to operate independently without breaking brand trust or user familiarity.
We aligned typography, header and footer structure, color usage, and overall layout to mirror the main site’s branding. These adjustments allowed the directory functionality to live on WordPress while maintaining a familiar and cohesive experience for users.
Results
The directories subdomain now blends seamlessly with the primary Buried In Work site, delivering a cohesive brand experience.
Visitors can move between the main site and the directory without noticing a platform change, while the WordPress implementation provides the flexibility and functionality needed to support the directory independently.
